go with Mickey ThompsonsNice work Adam! Just leave something left on the DRs for Timmayfest...:hihi: I was looking at the new Nitto DRs and thinking about upgrading. Your thoughts?

Deal!I need to come over in the next couple of weeks. Trade some lift time for some GC install hands?
No worries, Ray. Plenty of life left in the Nitto's. With a little heat, they stick surprisingly well. I had to drop the pressure down to 18 to get the wheel hop under control. As Matt can attest, I was unable to spin them off the line. They just hooked. Many thanks for letting me look after them for you. :cheers:Nice work Adam! Adam I do believe you got a chirp once 1st gear was fully engaged and you stopped slipping it, other than that, they were glue.Deal!

I have heard mixed reviews on the 555R's but they seem to work well on the E39. I can't speak of the new Nitto's as I haven't seen or heard about them.

Agreed! I ran these on the e55 and they always hooked.
go with Mickey Thompsons[/quote]MT makes a good DR but when we looked at our options back in 2008, the best 'fit' size-wize for the E39 M5 was with the Nitto's. Another factor was Thrilos5's experience with them and he was doing the driving:byee55amg It just may be advertising hype, but Nitto's latest ads claim that their new DRs are the best, bar none:dunno:
Now that you have starting from a standing stop mastered, how about moving up to road racing?

The record was only a missed shift away on my 1.70 60' launch! :crying2: The Aquamist is one of my next mods but I may have another trick up my sleeve for IAT cooling that doesn't involve any spray.Adam,
The record is only $1k from reach! Get the HFS6 kit and a tank. Even if you run 50/50 with no S/C pre-cooler jet will be enough added HP to get you a few more tenths, an easy 50HP.
I'm glad to hear about the Brecus clutch as I have been waiting for some tried and tested high rev shift reviews. I've been concerned with whether it would hold up to quickshifts. Back in the day when I dragged, we used to powershift but I know the guibo and tranny in the M% wouldn't appreciate that abuse.
I guess I'll need to contact Brecus and do another independant FI review to back up your findings mmmmmm
uh oh!!! :tonquesmilie:The record was only a missed shift away on my 1.70 60' launch! :crying2: The Aquamist is one of my next mods but I may have another trick up my sleeve for IAT cooling that doesn't involve any spray.Or perhaps both!
The Brecus clutch is definitely up to the task. I really rung it out good that day and it never felt anything but right. On most passes I powershifted the 3-4 but just couldn't bring my self to attempt this on the first two upshifts....yet.
Lots of people with lots of tricks up their sleeves these days! What (or who) do they all have in common?! ^ that gives me a boner just looking at it.
Adam lets do it! I'm sure Bonnie will enjoy a ride along there![]()
I'll do it if you will! :grinyes: We have to get your car on a track at some point and it was built for a road course.Adam lets do it! I'm sure Bonnie will enjoy a ride along there![]()
With the wife having a dental implant procedure that morning, an afternoon ride along might be just what she needs to shake off the cobwebs from the anesthesia. I'll mention the tax benefits too. :biggrin:April 13th, Summit Point, WV. You should go (it's tax deductable), i'll be there shooting photos and doing a few laps.
I already called Adam out but he has previous plans, or so the excuses go :biggrinbounce:
