Hi,

I have just picked up a new B&M SSK, the non-isolated version on ebay for £30. I have since read several people talking about the isolated version (which they universally liked), and one pretty negative write up on the one I bought.
Before I install it I thought I would see if anyone here had one, or had experience of one in practice.
I am not too fussed if its not a good one to go for because I can just put it back on ebay, as they seem to be selling regularly for around what I paid for it - so be brutally honest :)

Thanks in advance for you help,

Travis

My opinion is that you will be wasting the install/uninstall funds with this unit. B&M recently discontinued the version that you have purchased.

With the installation costing you over £100, and then another £100 to uninstall it if you don't like it, you would be much better off with a higher-end unit such as the OCTANE short shifter (+WSR) manufactured by Rogue Engineering. Click here for more information.

Cheers, Daniel.

Thanks Daniel,

Would probably install it myself as from what I can see it isn't too tricky (touching wood). I am more worried about using it in the car everyday. I understand that the Octane is much better - everyone raves about it, so I guess the B&M goes back on ebay - who knows, I might sell if for more than I bought it for :)

Cheers

I had a non isolated B&M fitted to my E30m3...... Absolute crap, It vibrated and sounded like a bloody neumatic drill..........

The only thing I would do with a B&M would be bin it (sorry !) Or resell on Ebay
