Good God, Man! 3? Are you crazy? We are just getting our lives back in order after 2 quick ones and really having trouble having that "3rd" discussion....
...As for your dilema, do what I did and get the wifey a Suburban. Then you just switch cars if you have all of the kids the same time.
Congrats again.
Well, since you asked, I believe we ARE crazy. Certifiable. And as for that difficult "3rd" discussion, I can tell you that it's much easier AFTER the fact. Let me just say that a couple of Protestants have no business practicing the rhythm method!!
And as for the Suburban, what if the wifey loves her 7er and has an anti-SUV, anti-minivan streak just like the old man? Example: "I'll be able to put three kiddie seats across the back of the 740i easier than you can in your car...We need to replace that
[email protected] M5!"
Now on to topics that are M5-related. I can't tell you what to do, but when I have to consider replacing my clutch (again, only not under warranty), then I will investigate likely two options: the 'RRoberts' style lightened factory dual-mass flywheel mated to the Sachs Racing clutch, or the UUC kit. I see where Rob L chimed in on your earlier thread to say you have to consider total life-cycle costs before making a comparision, and there may be some validity to his point. But I still feel, even when comparing apples to apples, that there's a better solution out there for much less than $3K in parts (UUC).
As for your upcoming Barber event, I'd go and have fun, and just keep one eye open for mushy clutch---and then back her down for a piece (not unlike with the factory brakes). Clutches tend to go gradually, so I don't think you're in too great a risk of getting stranded in Birmingham.
Have fun, and let us know what happens. Oh, and if you're ever in Austin be sure to let me know!
