Anyone use a Motorola MPX220 with Cingular in their car?

I am looking for the right phone so I can install the Bluetooth options in my car. The only clamshell phone Cingular has is the 551. And it is a POS.

They said the Motorola MPX220 is a bad phone but I suspect that is because they want me to buy from them.

Anyone use the Motorola MPX220?

And if this Q is in the wrong place Gustav please let me know.

Thanks in Advance

Don't know the answer, but I thought the MPX220 was a phone/pda. It seems a lot harder to sync one of those up to the BT in our cars then just a plain phone.

You are correct about the PDA portion.

The 551 even has a snapin for our cars but if the phone sux then why use it :)

Hvae you used the MPX220?

I know we are a little OT here, but I agree with you on the 551. I got annoyed wth the whole Cingular AT&T merger issues and junk they were handing out, including the 551 which I used for a couple of weeks, so I switched to Verizon.
I looked at the MPX 220 and 2 of my partners got it, but we returned it. Turns out that if you use a laptop, to use the pda u either need to leave your laptop on, or buy another dedicated served to "push out" the info. So they returned the phone, but 3 of us independently came to the conclusion it was the best phone/pda at the time, where the phone was the most important component, not the pda.

Thanks for the feedback. I don't need the push feature. I had just heard that Cingular had them for a while then recalled them. Now they are available again with a newer software rev.
I've been using the MPX220 for about 5 months now and it's a great phone. I don't however have BT installed the M just yet but will be soon enough. When did they come out with a software revision and do you know if it's available somewhere for download if it was very recently?
Aperently 1.43 is the most current version.

Where to get it I am not sure. But apperently it fixes known issues. Locking up etc.
