I know, I know... As long as you change your oil on a routine basis then you're ok to basically use whatever.

Just thought this channel's results were interesting and how some of the favorites on here (liquidmoly or royal purple) didn't do so well in the championship when compared to cheaper alternatives. This is only 5w-30 non euro synthetic blends. He also does a lot of comparisons of mechanic tools and other DIY stuff too. Nice to have "controlled" real world testing in addition of manufacture claims and stats. Not meant to be an oil war/debate as the results are what they are.

Interesting video but not sure I understand the testing methodology, Isn't the right way to test oil to see whether it sheared/lost it's chemical protective properties at various mileage intervals? This seems to be a viscosity test before and after one heat cycle...
