Hi,

I am considering shipping my M5 to PR. I know most of the rules now but I don't want to register the vehicle in PR, is there a way to avoid this? I have current registration and insurance on the vehicle where it is now, but I know in PR they want you to pay import tax 12% on the value of the car and register after 30 days. I would like to keep the car in PR while I'm here and that could be 6 months at a time. I would also obtain Hegarty insurance with pleasure use on it.

Thank you for any possible direction.

In Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 the salt is in the air (moisture) make sure no piece of bare metal is exposed to the moisture. Caribean is very unforgiving to metals.
