I receive constant complaints about how awful and noisy I sound when using my iphone via the m5's bluetooth. I am not sure if it is my phone, the beast or soemthing else.

I recently had service done and told the service dept about this issue. They said everything seemed to be ok when they ran their 'tests.'

Anyone else having the same issue?

If you have the original bluetooth, then there might be two issues.

Firstly BMW changed the Mic somewhere along the line to another that's 6db more sensitive. Take a look at the P/N for the Mic and check against the new number, it's plug'n'play and it's not very expensive.
Also the ULF unit has changed many times, it's now release 13 i believe. This will also change the sound to the better, and the phonebook will get transferred aso.

But check out the mic first.
I appreciate the help but have no idea how to accomplish what you have detailed above...

A few observations about my bluetooth.

-no issues when car is not moving
-accelerating even around 20-30mph causes sounds like being in a wind tunnel..Other party says it hurts their ears
-moving phone to different places in the car does not seem to help
