Just last week Bmw Ag announced there will be No allocations until BMW NA can bump up US sales of the current 5 series by 19% or greater, it has really caused quite a stir in in the industry.
Wow, that is indeed some crazy news. I will have to see if my dealer can call down and talk with his rep at the factory on what is going on.

"No soup for u!"

are you sure about this?.. i like to see the BMW Ag announcement.

but BMW NA is a major market for the M5...
as well, the M5 is going to draw more buyers for regular 550i 530i's.

how realistic is car dealers going to magically increase sales by 19%?? i would like to know. if they start slashing prices or giveaway cheap leases it is going to hurt more in the long run.

i think it is just a coverup for the hold ups in the production and delay even further before releasing the M5 to the US.
Sorry I guys, I was just trying to be funny, I thought my comment was so absurd no one would believe it, hiha Just joking, Josh
nice!!
600 scheduled for delivery in November and 700 for December. No production delays.
Also I was told by my dealer that there are about 700 dealers in the USA, not sure if this is accurate. Of course, not every dealer will get a car and some will get several.
Well, I finally gave up. BMW NA lost another customer because of its incredible lack of communications ability, and a total lack of visibility :cool2: into its supply chain - all I asked for was a reasonable estimate of when I could expect my position on the wait list to be produced/shipped.

As a result, I ended up getting a Maserati coupe  and won't think twice about the M5 again. If, my some strange twist of fate, my number actually comes up to buy one, I may sell my spot or just lose my deposit.

This has to be one of the most poorly managed new product introductions in the history of automobiles! :grrrr:

I have to agree it's pretty bad. Hopefully it will be worth the wait...
