I have made one for the E34/M30 and per OEM real the pans are the same. So this should fit your M5.
I have been making skid plates for the E30 BMW for years now. After picking up my own E34 I see the need for one here also. This is what I have made for my self. I will make a short run maybe 5 or 6 to test the waters. If you want one let me know. They are made of 10 gage steel, laser cut and come with all hardware and instructions needed. price is $185 shipping will run $15 to $30 from Vancouver WA. please feel free to ask any questions you may have.

Looks like a good piece of kit.

How does this interface with the OEM front air guide (that allegedly helps high-speed stability), and does it have any effect on the rear air guide that helps cool the transmission. I assume it would use the same mounting points as the OEM version 'front aggregate protective plate' (51718105603):

BTW, realoem list different part numbers for the air guides (not for the guard) for different models, so if it doesn't use the OEM mounting points, it might need a bit of tweaking to fit around the different model's air guides.

It works well and can not be seen unless you get in under the car. It does use the stock holes in the rear for mounting and you drill a few in the front lower support. 30min install. Very straight forward.
