i start my car up and someone outside of it notices a strange sound coming from the motor. It is very hard to hear from inside the car. The sound is like a metal on metal click. It seemed to come from the drivers side of the engine. Reving the engine made the sound increase in speed, but it was harder to hear over the regular engine noise. The noise sort of sounds like valve's or lifters moving, all the it is only really one sound. The sound went away after a drive, but i am still worried about it. Any info is appreciated. Thanks

There is a problem with your VANOS (It sounds like a diesel in 3-7 seconds). BMW will change it for free, but most of the BMW dealers doesn't know about it.
