My Silverstone blue 2001 beast is going in for a service at BMW tomorrow. It now running 80k miles on the clock, is fully warranty'd are there anything that you would suggest I have the folks at BMW take a look at from your experience?

I have had the M5 for 1 year now and so far its been a gem - long may it continue in this vein - but a little extra fettling while on the BMW warranty would do not harm. They are already going to look at the MAFS for me based on the slight hesitiation that the car sometimes has...

Any advice greatly received.....

i would check all the seals on the drivetrain (diff., drivshaft, etc.) fluids. spark plugs, carbon buildup, vanos, etc. all the major items. better to find out now and fix it than later.

Thanks for the tips.

i have just extended the BMW warranty at a frankly scandalous cost of GBP1500!!! for 12 months. lets hope if anything does go wrong, they cover it....

Cheers
