The AM reception in my '03 M5 is horrible. Had it checked by the dealer and got the expected "up to normal spec" response, but while it may be normal it is worse than on my 740, 540, and any other car I've been in. I'm sure it has to do with the factory tint.
Since the antenna is in fact the rear defrost element, does anyone know how it interfaces with the radio? I'm going to test improving the reception by running a wire from one terminal of the defrost circuit to the outside, but if this does fix the issue, I'm stumped by how and where to run it without it being obtrusive, or being possibly dangerous when the defrost is on.
Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
