I am booked on the 1115hrs Speedferries Super Seacat to Boulogne on June the 29th.
Staying overnight in Alsace.
If anyone is travelling at that time could meet up for a blast through France.:M5launch:

Hi M5K

I am intending to travel from West Sussex, most likely on the Thursday 30th. However, having read the latest acticle in BMW Car regarding the 330i on location in France, I don't think I will be doing much blasting until we get to Germany. He was fined 750 Euros for 207km and immediately lost his licence for a month, lucky he had a co-driver.

I got stopped last October near Limoges doing 137km on the Autoroute. I thought it was 130km limit. Non, 110km according to the very polite policeman as he took my 90 Euros. Very impressed with the professional manner he dealt with me, my wife and 3 year old daughter (who asked to sit in the blue van with Daddy and help with the paperwork)... until he called my B12 7 series "a volvo"!

Cheers

me and Jimmy01 are planning to travel down on the wed/Thurs he in is E28 B10 and me in the E32 B11... doubt we'll be going the straight route through france for reasons stated.. probably go up to aachen and then down through Germany to stuttgart and across...
looks like every ones travelling at different times, i think closer to the time we can all see where we are and see if we can get a convoy together, theres also a few from belgium that should be going as well it would be nice to hear from them.
As D4 says,

I'm still waiting for my membership stuff to come through, otherwise I'd have a ferry booked and be ready to go!
Ok guys here's the story so far...

I will use real names as it's probably easier to understand etc...

Was speaking to Craig the other day (he's working out of the country for the next few weeks and infact may not even be able to make the trip himself) As you may or may not know he's the UK rep for the Gemeinschaft - but because of his absense/work commitments he's asked me to sort out the final details with Rene..

so here goes...

I got an email from Rene last night requesting confirmation of all of the UK members who are planning to attend. I have every member's phone numbers and will be planning to speak to you all in person over the next day or so (as I need to confirm the details to Rene by this Sunday) but if you're on here you can, as easily let me know (or indeed if you're not on the list and plan to attend please post here so I can advise him)

The list of UK Members and their status for this event as supplied by Rene is as follows:

Confirmed as attending
Richard Croxford
Brian Waters

Unconfirmed

Simon Brooks
Andrew Douglas (D4)
Paul Edwick
Andrew Everett
Andrew Gilbert (Andy G)
James Hills (Jimmy01)
John Kelson
Craig Pusey
Helen Whistler
Peter Thorpe*

* not listed as a member - Peter I understand that you may have sent of the fees etc.. and therefore presumably as a brand new memeber you've not made the list - however if you are planning to attend I can speak to Rene and I'm sure there will be no problem.

I would like to have details of numbers of people and of ALPINA Cars coming... we can sort details like travelling in convoy etc and meeting places and times out in the next few weeks...

Please either post here or email me about this trip to: [email protected]

Cheers for the heads up, I have just started a new contract, so am working out my time and commitments as we speak, intend to go, and will more than likely be bringing the e28 B9, but need to clarify my working commitment first.

We have also booked the "stadthotel' and 12.00 in Aachen could well be the time we pass there.Maybe we can arrange something?

Well-my wife is working till 12 o'clock I think...i don't know the exact time right now.

We won't go too fast.....
We won't go too fast.....

LOL!!
160-180 km/h is a good travelling speed. I don't think the A61 or the A3 is free enough to drive more than 220 km/h at this time of the day...on the A61 there are a lot speed limits of 120 km/h,on the A3 there is even more traffic...:crying:
