My B9/1 Motronic unit also does not have any labels on the case but you can see where it was affixed at one point. With mine being brought into the US, I was worried that the motronic may have been switched. I contacted Alpina and was routed back to the US parts distributor and they basically wanted to tell me about the availibility and prices of new units. So I opened the unit that I have to see what is on the chip and it is marked as Alpina. I sent the pics to Alpina for possible verification and was told that they can no longer accept my core to be reconditioned and must now purchase a new one because I have opened the unit. They did not seem to understand that I do not want to buy a new unit.b9projectcar said:Now, this is a new step in my project, with the genuine engine.
The only bad point is that the motronic wasn't saved. Just hope my car still have the correct one, or i will need a good motronic to make a copy of the chip. I don't have Alpina sticker on my box, but there is some kind of dirt, like a sticker was gone some times ago.
So, I remembered looking at your site and thought that I remembered seeing your motronic and searched back to see if I could see your case size and markings but did not see enought to help. Your site was great and I really enjoyed it but I am still trying to figure what the base motronic that Alpina used was. Is it the 060 or 061 motronic, or something else?
These are pics of mine and my chassis build date was 05/85.
