i have a chance to get a new exhaust. it's a tubi. however, i'm not sure if it will be loud enough. my question is what exhausts did you get, why, and how do you like it. which one would you recommend?

I like Kelleners, Just bought one but have been waiting a week or so for it to arrive, Josh
I bought my Tubi form Daniel at Beastpower.com afew months ago.
I really like the deep tone from inside the car.
Not to quiet nor too loud.
It seems to be getting a little louder as I put the miles on the beast.
You might want to listen to the different exhaust audio clips Beastpower's website. It is the only site I know you can compare exhaust systems.
Exhaust systems are like picking the exterior colors..... very personal.

I have had a B&B on my M5 for 4.5 years. I get a lot of complements on how the car sounds, even from non-car people.

I LOVE the sound of my beast: Supersprint headers, x-pipe, racing cats and mufflers. Deep rumble with a beautiful burble when you let off the gas...and the POWER!!!
SS Headers & X-Pipe with Dinan Cans. Sounds rediculously good and turns a lot of heads. Its loud.
can't get headers because they're $$$

I think the Dinan cans sounds awesome with the stock setup. They come to life big time witht the SS system in place.
I think you need to hear the real sound of the different pipes. Loud vs too loud is subjective. I went with the Tubi cat back mainly based on recomendations on this board. The money was not an issue. I like the sound at idle and when you get on it, but while just tooling along for a long ride, it does not get on your nerves. They do get louder as you put on the miles (18k w/ the pipes).

What ever you get, you can't go wrong. Best of Luck..... :M5launch:
I thought we all had exhausts - just kidding!

I have the Dinan exhaust - love it. Got it at 500 miles and it still sounds good. A bit of resonance @ 1500-2000 under load (up hill & too lazy to down shift). Other than that. Sweet and a lot lighter (~35 pounds).

As stated above - any choice would be sweet. Regards, Nick
Eisenmann Race + SS X pipe......sounds WICKED, and I love it.
There's several other threads where this question is explored at length, use of the search function will show it up. I put a fairly lengthy answer on the last thread..
Kelleners with supersprint xpipe sounds awesome, I still love it after 12 months. It makes TVR's sound old school and flabby, Ferraris a little hairdresser. It's NASCAR to my ears.

OK sometimes if it was a little quiter it would help but this is rare and I have so many people come across and ask 'wow, what's been done to your M5, sounds amazing !'

Thats what I am talking about, I cannot wait to get mine on the car, I am going with the same set up, Josh
i have the full dinan set up--intakes to exhaust. i get comments all the time. i took the car to bimmerfest in santa barbara, on the way back about 30 of us drove back to the bay area up coast highway 1--since it is mostly a two lane road, i had guys wanting to drive behind me just to hear my exhaust--lots of positive feedback. sound is mellow internally--so a nice set up. more of a muscle car sound relative to the tubi's i am told.

i have heard ottati's supersprints and they are very nice--especially with his headers.
