Hi all, just joined and as I wait for delivery of my 1999 M5, I wondered if anyone out there knows of an insurer who specialises in them?

I currently drive a modified Jap import Nissan 300zx TT with 450BHP and the cheapest quote I've had so far for the BMW is about twice as much!

That can't be right can it?

Welcome on board, shop around is the best advice, it depends upon age, no claims bonus, location etc etc, I'm with Norwich Union who quoted me happy with 14 months cover for £761 but that was for 25k miles per year business use on 2001 car (they also gave me a bit of extra discount as the car is garaged overnight).

Liverpool and Victoria were also a good price, £741 for 12 months of the same cover. Direct Line insist on a Tracker and this year quoted me £941 yet last year were the best rate for me, and I've heard that Tesco's are supposedly good but in my case they were more expensive.

Thanks for the suggestions - I am still doing the rounds, but for some reason the java script that most of the online sites use doesn't seem to be copmpatible with my fire wall. I tried to disable the java settings, but it still isn't working. I rang round a few yesterday and Direct line are currently in the lead, but no where near your figure! - I'd be happy with a sub £1000 quote!
