2002 e39 M5.
The DSC light went on a little while back. Shop confirmed it was the ABS module, by swapping with a known good one.
Sent my module for repair to BBA Reman, reinstalled it, DSC light still on.

Should the light have gone off as soon as I put in the rebuilt module? Or is there anything else I need to do first, e.g. reset stuff?

Were you only having the DSC light? Normally a faulty ABS module would give the trifecta (ABS, brake, DSC).
If it only your DSC then you should have your codes read again. Likely a steering angle sensor or yaw sensor fault.

This is also assuming you have validated the alternator output (should be 13.5-13.8 at idle and 14.2 at 2k), fuses, and grounds. For a simple way to check alternator output, use the “hidden menu” test 9.
