Just read this in the latest issue of Roundel, page 30 "Heard on the Strasse":

"Finally, the new M6 will be powered by a 5.5-liter version of the M5's V10 with enough juice to motivate it from rest to 60 mph in 4.5 seconds."

I would guess this is a mistake for a couple reasons. First, I've heard nothing about the development of a 5.5 liter V-10. Second, the 4.5 seconds is the same as the M5 0-60 time.

Anyone hear anything about this?

There's a similar thread on this. Total journalist rubbish. We'll take note of these rubbish rumours as this will likely repeat itself in future models.

The M5's been timed at 4.4s 0-60mph. So I'd hope the M6 would beat that with the normal engine let alone a 5.5ltr version.

No way they can afford to do a totally seperate engine, unless the M6 is going to have a HUGE price tag with it.

More power? Possibly. But I think it would come from computer, exhaust and/or intake improvements.
