Hi all,
I have a 4pot caliper with 324mm/30mm discs in the front.
I have a problem by pressing the dustcaps(new) on the caliper, they just won't go over the caliper edge
.
The metal ring is in the dustcap and this makes it more difficult to press them on. Is there a special trick to fit these caps easier?
Thanks for any info!

Tim,

If yours are the Brembo alloy calipers, mine suffer the same way. I suspect that the tiniest bit of corrosion where they fit stops them seating properly. Sticking pistons follow soon after!

Sam,

The calipers are the 4pistons from BMW(ATE) only available on german 750i as an upgrade thus it is so difficult to find someone who has any experience to repaire these calipers. Even my official BMW garage doesn't know how to do it. Maybe you are right about the tight fitting and the corrosion which prevents the ring to go over the edge. I will try to sand the edge a little bit to press them over it.
Thanks
Tim
