Bought this car for $4k, ran but had some codes. Dropped the pan to see what everything looked light. Discollered 1/6 cylinder journel and found a crack. Top end looks fine. What to do now that everything is out?

58k miles.

My plan;
-clean and test injectors
-replace crank and bearings
-upgrade oil thermostat
-add a front plug to oil pan
-new clutch
-decat
-flush Vanos?
-flush SMG?

What else should I do now that everything is out? Smg stuff? Other engine stuff?

Thanks for your suggestions.

Replace the high pressure vanos line. Replace the wear parts and filter in the vanos, oil system (chain guides and springs). Replace the plugs.
If it’s an early model S85, update the oil squirters, and if it’s a very early model update the vanos gears.

2008 with 58k miles and a damaged crank? That's a tough break. As said above, 2008's should already have the second drain plug on the pan.

Assuming this was a spun bearing, what are you doing about the con rod?

08s (gen 2) didn't get updated squirters.

Got pics of the engine and damage?

I read the vanos gear was updated March 2007.
No spun bearing... Surprisingly.
I think the car was in an accident and the oil pan was damaged and swapped for a use one. Smg mounts were broken and welded.
