That brings the total to 1,489 M5's for the Y2k model year. My 2,000 unit target for 2000 is well within reach.

Overall sales are up 19% for the 1st quarter 5 series sales were very strong up 37% during the same period.

In other words, business is booming.

Hey, are there any dealership employees on this board who can give us some behind the scenes info?

Any idea what the exterior color distribution is for US M5's?

Interesting! What was BMW saying originally about production numbers for 2000? They will certainly reach the 2000 mark.

The original estimates varied from 1000 to 1500. I think those lower numbers were used by dealers to put pressure on potential buyers. Even the current issue of Automobile magazine reader's poll is sticking with the 1500 number. We're already past that.

By the way, the M5 was voted best sports sedan by the readers. No surprise here.
