Long version:

The What:

2004 BMW X5 4.8is
Price: $15k
104000 Mileage (going up daily)
Clean title

Listing this on behalf of a family member and a car I personally care for alot of the time. And know the current/past owner and history.

The time has come to list this 4.8is. It's in bang on shape with probably a bit too much in maintenance if I'm honest, haha.

Owned the car for a little over 5 years and 50k+ miles with over $20k+ done in maintenance from all owner over the years. To which this car has FULL service history since new!
Current mileage is 104,xxx and just had the car detailed to look awesome, just in time for bimmerfest.

Looks stunning both on-road and off-road! Tons of pictures can be seen here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/[email protected]/albums/72157708119757085

It's a blast to drive and while being comfy on the highway is actually a pretty decent canyon carver!

The Work:
Some key maintenance notes: Dang near everything one would want.
Valve stem seals, Suspension control arm refresh ala FCPEuro, Air suspension nearly all components have been replaced at one point, even the dreaded EHC-II module!
Window Regulators, random door latches, power steering and cooling lines, Blower motor fan (yes.. it was not fun) and ALOT more. I should have an Excel File if anyone wants a look.

Just had it aligned, flushed the brake fluid, and changed out the EHC-II module (...which was very fun).

These cars are only getting harder and harder to find these days. let alone in this condition.

The Mods:
H&R 25mm Bolt on Rear Spacers
E70 Rear Wiper Blade + Arm
6k Angel Eye Halo Bulbs (Unknown brand),OEM ones included separate.
Clear Bra on Headlights
Upgraded tweeters / Midranges (Midbasses are OEM).
OEM Aux Cord
4.6is Style 87 Wheels

The Bad:
-I was trying to diagnose why the car had a slight right pull (Despite an ideal alignment), and I THINK it may be the front right caliper slightly sticking. It wasn't bleeding as smoothly as the other 3. TheRotor doesn't seem burnt or anything, but this may be the cause. Wheels balanced fine, and no change L>R R<L. I think over on Xoutpost a full DIY rebuild would run ~$100 or so.
-Some vibration above 70mph that is varying in nature (Minimal at times, not so nice at times) Again might be because of the above? As we would all assume one might think thrust arm bushings, but from what I can tell (since they have less than ~10k on them) are good with no cracks/leaks. No issues when braking either. A bit of a conundrum. Haven't pulled the plug on the FCPEuro warranty on any items yet.
-Pano roof vibrates on really bad roads (noise is gone when tilted) Supposedly precisely placed strips of electrical tape on the tilt arms relieves this, but I haven't gotten there yet.
-Navigation pixels....This unit has a lifetime warranty unit from GermanAudioTech, PO had the job done, if you want to try and warranty it I can arrange it. I just don't want to deal with that company. It hasn't gotten worse or made the screen un-useable so there's that.

-Like most on the board may know, I'm a bit OCD and sometimes exacerbate negatives!
Some may note the coolant transfer pipe as the unholy 3rd biggest PITA, honestly I haven't had issue with it and don't loose any coolant. So I assume it's still trucking on just fine.

The Extra:
Comes with All weather floor mats (and trunk), trunk net, Front sunshade, BSM Touch up paint, and an OEM E53 Car Cover if I can find it.
Up for negotiation is an OEM Underride Protection Bar with install kit. (This is one of my personal items, so it's outside the sale)
Also Up for negotiation is a OEM E53 LCI Sport steering wheel (Same as above) but wrapped in new Nappa leather from Germany (Again a personal Item, so it's outside the sale.) The owner wanted a fully original OEM Leather wheel and didn't like the increased thickness, so I kept it and sourced the OEM one you see above.... Not easy finding these guys in Excellent condition!

The Contact:
Paint is very shinny, leather still looks good and always conditioned regularly.

Please PM me for more information / contact info.

Car is located in Hacienda Heights, 917145

I know, but a dedicated work truck is on the horizon :)

Time for someone else to enjoy the 4.8is fun!

Good luck with the sale! I had a 4.8is for 3 years - brilliant car, especially if it can be found with all major issues sorted as with this one.

Month bump.

High speed shake seems to have been fixed.
A new Navigation LCD is to be installed in the next few days :) Pix will be added to album when done.

It's not mentioned in the ad, but the MKIV GPS has the last 2015 maps (OEM disk set), OEM refurbished DVD Drive, and OEM V32 software w/Perspective enabled.
