I'm looking at a 2003 M5 at a dealer. The car is an '03 with 16K miles. According to the vehicle history report it had its oil changed at 1,433 miles, and the next change was at 15,560 miles 20 months later.
Cause for concern?

Prolly not. Dino oil can age- syn is OK. Certainly the 14k mile interval is within spec.

Have they flushed the brake fluid yet? (Should be 3 years from mfg date). I assume they did the other stuff at 1433 (tranny fluid I believe)

Good luck

Actually, BMW says change oil at least once per year, and covered by warrentee.

Yeah, I should have recalled that...

I'd say if you can get the dealer/BMW to state that the failure to change the oil will have no impact on YOUR warranty you should be fine. I really doubt it could be a real issue with the engine- but it could be an issue with the warranty if BMW wanted to be pissants.
