I have a 1993 m5 and the speedometer is starting to behave erratically as well as the temp gauge. ProgRama wasn't able to help. And Palo Alto Speedometer can't help either. Any recommendations on shops that can fix these today?

Did you actually send off the cluster to either shop? Or just inquire with them? Typically those issues indicate capacitor issues on the instrument cluster board. A simple replacement of the capacitors on the board may solve your issue. In my case, I had a dead temp gauge when I first got my car and the problem ended up being the hex code on the cluster's coding plug.
A very knowledgeable member of one of the German E34 forums was able to repair the code and I was able to re-flash my coding plug which fixed the dead temp gauge.
