If you go by Vin numbers, and each vin means a production car then this would be the numbers

US MARKET LHD

2005= non built for US
2006= 4,734
2007= 2,704
2008= 1,374
2009= 443
2010= 229

M5Portal.com

I have no idea how accurate this is, if the source is even accurate and or if my caculating each vin as a car is correct..

I was just going over this as my VIN is C043257, but the letter previous is A (10th letter - model year, the previous being a 9 for 2009) denoting it as a 2010 by the manufacturer. Didn't think anything of it until I saw a 2010 salvage M5 with C043175 or something or other listed as a 2010.

I used a VIN decoder online to search for VINs under the C043, and the first available VIN is WBSNB9C52AC043081 which is listed as a 2010 BMW M5 for the US market, the last one for 2009 being WBSNB9C529C043080. So about 409 2010's have been manufactured for the USA market!

Just have to rejig the numbers a little is all

Interesting that it states C043490 was the last MY10. Mine is 476 so only 14 more were produced afterwards. I wanted one produced as late as possible but never imagined I was that close to the end of production.

Wow, yours is extremely close. Mine is “395” and I thought I was the closest that I knew.

Wow, I have 416. Production date Nov 6, 2009.
I'm really surprised that so few were made as 2010 models.
