serpentine belt

My '07 M6 with 90k miles is going into 'limp mode' with code '01146' on my cheap reader. I think one of my throttle actuators is bad. I'm wondering if I should do a top end 'refresh' like what should be done with non-M models? On my M54's I would replace valve cover gaskets, spark plugs...
