I had excellent color matches from these guys. Their product is pretty good. https://leatherworldtech.com/bmw-dye/?https://www.leatherworldtech.com/&gclid=CjwKCAiAwZTuBRAYEiwAcr67OeqrbqKHyXyT37cHtkTGIf7NeHT5esREKCrTQ9uuXkmXJ-8B2X4g2BoCZiAQAvD_BwE

Then definitely get proper-matching automotive leather dye.

It held up fine, but if I were to do it again, I'd go with color matched dye. Unless you are doing the entire seat, or just toning something down like I did, chances it won't match to your existing color.

I have driven it to an alignment, and about 100 miles after alignment to let suspension settle before additional adjustment. Everything feels super tight! Due to slight lowering, steering got a bit heavier at lower speeds, not sure if I like it yet, as I felt it was close to perfect before. I...

Next in line of things I have planned for this round of fixes was finally removing the front bumper. Some might remember from the beginning of this thread that I had some sort of jammer installed on the front bumper mesh grille, which I needed to remove, but couldn’t find enough reason to take...

Thanks! Next was replacement of all the suspension bits in the front. In addition to the tie-rods, central steering link and idler arm, I was also replacing thrust arms (tensions struts), control arms, sway links and sway bar bushings, and everything related to the dampers. I needed to take the...

Interesting. Those are pretty marginal though, just paint scrapes - not to the metal?

Agreed, don't like the result, but PS skills are impressive!

Schwaben is not just a scanner. There is someting like a truncated version of INPA loaded on it, so it can do certain functions and some coding. You need to look which model does what though, I have not used it in a while. But I agree, INPA is the easiest and cheapest way to do all of that.

I'm sure your clutch and flywheel are fine, but if you are dropping hte gearbox, doesn't hurt at least to check it and see how they look. Replace if needed, cause I would hate to drop the tranny again just to get a few thousand miles out of the clutch disk.

You need a BMW-specific code reader, like Schwaben, Carly, or similar. Or, you can get a OBDII (K and D-can compatible) cable and load some BMW software like INPA or Rheingold to your Windows laptop and use that.

Looks like your throwout bearing is done. I'd replace guide bush, fork, and ball pin as well.

I have completed all the suspension work this weekend, and pretty happy with how everything turned out. Only driven the car around the block, as it desperately needs an alignment, which I will be getting tomorrow. I lowered it about an inch back and front from what it used to be, and I like the...

Bring your title (or proof of ownership) and your drivers' license to the dealer and they will have the key in 48 hours. You can also request the key that was stolen to be erased from the car so it no longer works. You can have up to 10 keys cut/registered to the car. your car had 3 keys when it...
  19. This Perfect E39 BMW M5 Is Definitely Not Worth $150,000

    E39 M5 and E52 Z8 Discussion
All the comments about how this car is too expensive and not worth it made by people who think that $150K is a lot of money. But the reality is - there are a LOT of people in this world who will spend $150K on a car without even thinking twice. Its just not that much for them. That's all.
  20. This Perfect E39 BMW M5 Is Definitely Not Worth $150,000

    E39 M5 and E52 Z8 Discussion
How many of these 10,000 have less than 10K miles on them now? And how many of those are Imola? See, it is a rare car, regardless of how many were made. Keep in mind, for people buying this one for $150K whether they can drive it or not is irrelevant. I can bet you $150K this is not going to be...
