  1. Video: Autobahnraser and Ronan Flat out on the bahn with the M6

    E63/E64 M6 Discussion
I measured the M6 top-speed with the Racelogic PerformanceBox. I did 338 km/h on the HUD = 326 km/h displayed on the PB.
  2. [scans] Sport Auto Supertest - Alpina B6 S

    E63/E64 M6 Discussion
That test also answers our long ago debate about what top speed an delimited M6 can do. With more power (B6 S = 530 bhp vs. M6 = 507 bhp) and better aerodynamics (B6 S = CdA:0,66 vs M6 = CdA:0,68) the B6 S reaches a top speed of 318 km/h. So a stock M6 won't exceed 320 km/h! All the best Sven
  3. Anyone running Pirelli P Zero Corsa's on their M6?

    E63/E64 M6 Discussion
I did run multiple sets of the P Zero Corsas on my M6: 1. They are superior to the above mentioned street tires ragarding both, dry and wet conditions. Their aquaplaning performance is poor however. 2. More so than street tires you need to get (and keep!) them on their high(er) operating...

Well, it's quite odd ... but when I do 130 km/h on the HUD I get ~137 km/h displayed on the GPS. In Germany it is regulated that the speed shown on the speedometer must be higher than the real speed. Furthermore, at the BMW driver training they measure speed by means of light-barriers, and...
  5. Video: Autobahnraser and Ronan Flat out on the bahn with the M6

    E63/E64 M6 Discussion
    No I did not. I figure 337 km/h is circa 322 km/h real speed.
  6. Video: Autobahnraser and Ronan Flat out on the bahn with the M6

    E63/E64 M6 Discussion
I did 337 km/h according to the HUD speedometer !!! All this talk about a stock M6 (or slightly tuned M6) being able to do over 330 km/h effective (GPS-measured) speed is BS. Have a look at the M6 tuned by LUMMA. It has 544 bhp and does 327 km/h without the body kit...

  8. GT3RS vs. Z06

Porsche 911 Turbo and Porsche Panamera Forum
In the current POWERCAR PROFI-TRACKTEST the GT3RS (1.57,90 min.) beats the Z06 (1.57,44 min.) on the Hockenheimring by nearly five tenths of a second. Conclusion: Both cars are completely different. The Z06 is an American powercar with a brutal longitudinal acceleration performance. The GT3RS...

Definitely! Yes. You can recognize them by the yellow calipers. Compared to steel discs, PCCBs are not only more resistant to fading, but also have an weight advantage of 5 kg per wheel!

Member doug asked me to post my experience regarding the BMW Perfection training. Well, here is a brief summary of what we did. - James Bond turn (driving backwards with 40 km/h and performing a 180-degree turn) - drifting around a cone-circle - abruptly evasion of an imaginary obstacle...

  13. Hey Ronan

    E63/E64 M6 Discussion
The BMW M instructor I talked with at the Hockenheim track perfection training sayed that there is a deviation of 5 %. My slightly tuned M6 (~520 bhp) can reach ~340 km/h on the digital HUD speedometer if the weather conditions - which have effect on the engine performance - are optimal. So the...

According to what my dealer said all new Porsche cars like the GT3 (RS) and the Turbo are limited to 310 km/h. Do you or any other member of this board know what delimited top-speed these cars can reach? Did you do a top-speed run yet? If so, what top-speed is displayed on the digital-speedo...

Good news! However, I've spend about 265.000,-- € for both, the M6 and the GT3 RS now. Furthermore, there are constant maintenance costs for the RS (tires, break-pads, different track set-ups done by the dealer...); frequent track use exacts its toll. So I am not planning to buy another car...
