  1. Multiple Cylinder Misfires P300/Trade in

    E63/E64 M6 Discussion
7 pages later, and I had enough, so last night I traded in the M6 for a new 435i xdrive. Thanks to everyone who tried helping me to diagnose this issue. Hope to be back in an M soon.

Well after 3.5 years of owning my beast, it came time to trade it last night for a new 435i xDrive, (Yes I know nothing will compare to the beast). I just couldn't handle the maintenance anymore on this car. For the 3.5 years I owned it I drove it maybe a full years worth due to all the...

Very interesting. Anything VANOS related sounds like a big job. Unfortunately I do not have a warranty.

Did you get a VANOS error of any sort though? I am literally not getting any other error except a misfire of the cylinders. I even ran VANOS tests in DIS and they all came back clean.

I wish I remembered wingnut, it was a while ago. They all were within 10 of each other though. Nothing to warrant a full cylinder failure. Mind you the whole bank fails now.

Fuel filter did not do anything. Car is still sitting in the garage. Worst part about all this, I tried to trade the car in and the dealer would only give me 16k for the car. I am sick about this situation to say the least. I have changed everything but Secondary Air.
  8. At a loss with Cylinder Misfire faults...HELP

    E63/E64 M6 Discussion
GHB...this sounds like the same problem I had. Here is the thread I started almost a year ago. http://www.m5board.com/vbulletin/e63-bmw-m6-forum-bmw-m6-convertible-m6board-com/400593-multiple-cylinder-misfires-p300-trade.html You can see in detail I took the same steps you did from injectors...

  10. Fuel Filter/Pump Question

    E63/E64 M6 Discussion
Has anyone seen this when doing a component test on fuel pump? I am trying to figure out what the "Not Okay" means. I was trying to see if I needed to change the filter to get rid of these misfires. Also how many filters are in the vehicle?

still nothing My car has been sitting in the garage for months now. I am still stumped. What are the chances the cam and crank sensors could possibly be bad but not throw an error? Also this goes for the MAF's.

So here is an update as of today. The indy shop said they can't pull up any codes and re-married the battery a few times after putting it on a tender all night. So the battery is ruled out. They didn't get codes for the secondary air pump but they think that is leading to improper readings or...

    E63/E64 M6 Discussion
Not to scare you but it is an expensive car to fix. For me these are the problems I have had so far. Mind you I fixed most of these issues myself except the tranny problems I took to the dealer. -Flywheel and clutch replaced at 51k miles ($4k) -Clutch position sensor replaced ($1800) -both...

    E63/E64 M6 Discussion
waynehudd2...if the battery issue doesn't fix it, it is the clutch position sensor. I have had extensive experience with mine messing up a year ago especially after I changed the flywheel and clutch. Everything worked fine after I changed that. The only thing that sucks is that they have to...

Oh wow mike2260...that really sucks man...I feel your pain trust me. My car has been out of commission for well over 6 months now. I performed my compression test last week when I got back. All the cylinders showed between 120-150 on the misfiring bank thankfully. So this is the weird part...

So I put new fuel injectors in on bank 2. Still is doing the same thing. Cylinder 9 still reads "0.0" on the timing while all the other cylinders read 2.2 or so. Also now all of bank 2 reads 0's after a few restarts of the engine. No VANOS errors are showing up on DIS either. Only the tank...

Just updating as we go along here...I have found out that when a single cylinder misfires it usually shuts down 3 in a group which could possibly explain why my misfires move randomly from 6-10....I think the number 10 injector leaking is the reason for the even worse startup after it has been...
