  1. 4f43 hydraulic unit, on period 2010 Bmw M5 121,000 miles

Thinking about that leak... the black oring between solenoid and hyd block should've sealed any leaks from the internal green orings. If not too late can you post a better pic to see where the oil was leaking from? And do you have a metal or newer delrin throwout bearing? If metal I doubt it...

Nothing against harbor freight but nitrile may not withstand hydraulic oil (pentosin). It could swell over time. You want to use viton which is the better material. But hey interesting that the broken oring was the culprit. Hard to imagine what caused it to break other than the solenoid having...
  3. Trouble coding out SOS warning

    E60 M5 and E61 M5 Touring Discussion
Oh I used the same diagram lol... but it has a couple errors. Combox pins 7 and 15 both call for TCU wire 15 - can't. I forgot what goes where but just look up the TCU pinout and it'll be clear what should be connected where. Then ignore the CAN wires. Finally you only need to power the combox...

Is it possible to lock down old threads? In the E60 section it's not uncommon for new members to bring up 10+ year-old threads asking if an issue was solved.
  5. Trouble coding out SOS warning

    E60 M5 and E61 M5 Touring Discussion
I did the CIC w/ combox retrofit not long ago. I ended up disabling telematics and all errors were gone. Just add +TELD to your VO and default code the kombi. No need to run can wires to the combox at all. In fact the can wires may lead to other errors being reported. See following bulletin...

Lol at that video... That procedure is in the owners manual, takes 2 minutes to read. To the OP, sounds like voltage regulator is going bad.

If you disconnect and plug the line at the accumulator yes it would remain full of air. Hence why I said remove the line altogether. But if you got everything working now why bother?

Guessing you meant the oil filter lines? I remember having access with the subframe off when I did my bearings.
  9. Time to upgrade my current coilovers with a full motorsport/competition MCS 2 way system.

You mean trim if you want more negative than the current -2.4 right? Weird why one side seems much closer to hitting the chassis. Pic angle maybe. Keep in mind the shock is held by a bushing so some movement will occur. Or is the GC plate shock mount solid?
  10. Transmission Malfunction Error

Need a better indy/scanner. If there's an error a code will be stored in the smg ecu.

Seems something was leaking inside the bell housing. Slave maybe? Doubt that'd be the cause for your troubles tho. Gear position wiring looks fine but I bet that if you touch it it will crumble. Take out the two rear solenoids and inspect their tips, appears you have the early black style...

Not sure why you care about understeer for a daily driver but... I ran 275/35/18s BFG R1s and needed 15mm spacers on the front. 12mm was not enough. They barely cleared the fenders using stock front geometry. You could add some camber to help if you have issues. Apex Arc-8 18x9.5, offset 22...

Yes there's something wrong with the actuator block. Only possible explanation as you have pressure and no issues with the clutch solenoid (fluid keeper for the whole system). Could be a piston oring (doubt it) or a solenoid tip broken. Also unlikely but since you're there better fix the gear...
  14. Alternator strangeness

    E60 M5 and E61 M5 Touring Discussion
Correct never touched the throttle. Looks different indeed. I believe there's a screen in inpa where you can monitor commanded vs measured voltage. I suspect your new alternator is at fault based on your description.

Update? Impressed by how fast you're tackling this.
  16. Misfire with no CEL after i swapped idle actuators and throttle actuators

    E60 M5 and E61 M5 Touring Discussion
That first one is an emissions concern. If whatever threshold is exceeded it will trigger a CEL. Pretty sure that's a legal requirement even.

FYI car-part shows some front convertible swaybars for about $100. Should be able to get front and rear for less than $200 shipped. Remember these are yards so you can make offers. Just triple-check you get the bars from a convertible as those are the best factory setup. Remember to ask for the...

Looks good. Once you install the strut tower top plastic cap the cut should be covered anyway no? What do you have in mind for swaybars?

Are you increasing caster? If so any issues with the shock top hitting chassis?
