  1. SI battery replacement service?

    E28 M5 Discussion
Thanks for confirming that the car is indeed no.180. The car looks and sounds great in the video and what a great story to have about your car. I agree, Tiff is a genius behind the wheel and it must have been great to have a few laps with him. I hope the BBC paid you for a set of two new...

  3. E34 M5's On the rise.

I am finding the very same with RHD cars. There is now less and less cars coming to market especially early 3.6 cars, which is strange as they were built in greater numbers than the 3.8. I would hazard a guess that the 3.8's are now more numerous than 3.6's. I think RHD 3.6's took a heavy toll...

The old website was much more user friendly, not a fan of the update.
  5. Is this the new high water mark?

    E28 M5 Discussion
At least that would have been reversible, drilling holes in the car is not. :frown

I can't be 100% certain but this looks like the SA Henna car that was sold recently. It looks like Classic Heroes has been tasked with fitting wheel arch extensions to the car. The new owner is entitled to do what he/she wants with the car, but I really have to ask the question, what is he/she...

Thanks for posting EuroH. I can't believe that some idiot broke that car for parts. It looked to be in very good shape and has a rare colour combination. :crying: People are restoring a lot worse than that, and then you get morons breaking good cars. That really pi$$es me off!!

The list below applies to the UK. OE = Original Equipment (often called 'Genuine' or 'Dealer Part') OEM = Original Equipment Manufacturer (often called 'Genuine') OEM Equiv = (Equivalent Part) Original Equipment Manufacturer (often called 'spurious') Aftermarket (often called 'spurious') For...

Great stuff Jimmy, Hopefully both cars will make it back onto the road. I have never seen an Arctic blue E28 M5 before so looking forward to the progress of no. 31. Did you find an M88 engine for no.31? I didn't think that fixing no.70 was going to be an option, so I am glad to hear that this...
  12. OEM v's OE Parts

    E34 M5 Discussion
Not correct....An OE part is one which you buy from a dealer that is in BMW packaging.
  13. OEM v's OE Parts

    E34 M5 Discussion
I don't think you fully understand the definitions of OE and OEM. Read M6bigdog's first post, he has summed it up perfectly. FWIW, I always buy OE parts from the dealer. If it was good enough for the BMW engineers that designed the car, then it's good enough for me.

Well spotted, it's the wrong washer bottle. That car should have the intensive cleaning bottle attached to the main bottle which is a different part number. Whoever was ordering the new parts for this car needs some retraining!! All of the correct parts are still available, grilles, washer...

This thread seems to have about three sub threads running through it, getting back to the car for sale at Cotswold cars. As Richard has chimed in looking for technical pointers or discrepancies about the car, I thought I would put my E28 M5 beard on and take up the challenge. I have been...

  20. Number 9

    E28 M5 Discussion
Hi Andrew, Welcome to the forum. Good to see that no.9 has resurfaced. I remember when Davidoli owned that car. It always stuck in my mind as it had a cool 1980's television in the back. Why don't you take it back to Phil Crouch? I have never used him personally but I have only ever heard good...
