Agreed if one could get a driver and bit in there. The screw heads touch the rail when backed out with no driver on them. This is required to clear enough, then pull the sensor assembly down to remove the screws before pulling the assembly back up to remove it. It worked well with the needle nose and now ready to replace with a metric hex head so a flat box end wrench can take care of it...

      Thanks.

I pulled a 76, so Im going to replace these DIY, or at least try to lol

      ordered two of these

What do you guys think about using these sensors?

I'm planning on doing my CPS and was told that while you you're in there might as well change these out as well.
Worthwhile doing it at the same time, I recently did. Additionally the screw heads ARE NOT philips, they are Pozi-driv. If you want my advice, Google "chapman manufacturing tools" and get their European/Japanese motorcycle set (all metric) as well as a cheap set of drive-bits which will include Pozi-driv.

I reused the existing TPS screws as well as did CPS with minimal fuss with this little guy.

I would think that you should be able to pull the fault codes with PA-soft. But a non-descript "Throttle Code" could be TPS, the Throttle Actuator and a few others. When you shut the car off do you hear a clicking from under the plenum? If so this would point mor in the direction of the TPS. If you like you can pull the plenum and check if there is any binding in the throttle linkage. If the TPS on each bank of throttles are not in sync' it will cause a fault and the Limp (Fail Safe).
Thanks, based on what I've read so far this sounds like where I'd put my money.

Looks like this is the Throttle Position Sensor, correct? BMW Throttle Position Sensor - Hella 13637840383 | FCP Euro
