So here's the thing, I swear it LOOKS brown like motor oil, not red, but the head/block seems pretty darn clean whereas the sheathing of the power steering lines are just SOAKED. So I'm leaning towards starting with the PS and just assuming the fluid is browning up with a bit of grime on its way down to the floor.
Of further interest, the return pipe from the steering box seems to be two separate pieces, joined with a hose clamp, rather than a swaged single piece that the part number indicates:
Think I could save $100 and some effort by just using this I6 part, cutting the hose down, and re-using the existing aft piece?

EDIT: Pic for reference of the hose clamp/2-piece joint currently on the car that I'm referring to:

The hose routing is different and it's a formed hose, so the I6 part is not going to fit properly. You'd also have to figure out a way to transfer the clamping block thing over (at the cooler side). Looks like it was installed on the tube before the end form was made.
