I've cleared out most of my stuff but I still have exterior B-pillars, a dead pedal and some other odds and ends interior parts. Another board member inquired about CF trim and I'm pulling that from storage tonight. If there's something you are looking for I can check to see if I have it.

  7. Gas cap rust

    E39 M5 and E52 Z8 Discussion
It didn't hold up and bubbles have come back so I'll need to go back again this Spring. Pretty ridiculous for a car which is garaged all winter and only sees 3K miles/year. I'll hazard a guess that the shop didn't properly neutralize the rust with phosphoric acid. Very frustrating...

Pick up some plastic trim removal tools and masking tape. I recommend laying down the masking tape to prevent any chance of marring the finish. I actually have found the side trim to be a little more of a PITA.

You need to replace those; you won't get those scratches out. My advice is replace them and have them covered with paint protection film. That's what I did and it made life a lot easier..

    Cars For Sale or Wanted
All of this is true and amounts to this car having a very small addressable market of potential buyers. The main selling point is the condition of the vehicle and the premium asking price is a reflection of that. Furthermore, there are (more than I realized) a fair amount of enthusiast cash...
  12. Friends Car Collection

    GTBoard.com: General Sportscars
Since the owner actually drives these cars I'd be fascinated to know his impressions of the Reventon, Enzo, 599GTO, Porsche GT-1, Saleen S7 and the Mclaren F1. There are but a handful of individuals in the world who have driven all of these cars and it would be great to get some feedback on the...

    E39 M5 and E52 Z8 Discussion
Whether they blend into the door depends on where the damage is on the fenders. If it's localized near the front bumper/nose they may not need to go into the doors. IIRC, they did not need to blend into the doors on my car. My only advice is to take it to a good body shop and don't skimp on...

I had the front bumper, hood and fenders re-painted and then a custom clear bra that covered everything to give maximum protection. The front end wasn't that bad but IMO it doesn't make sense to put a clear bra on unless the paint is pristine.

I have been away for quite a while but have gone through similar efforts since purchasing my 03' 4 years ago last week...front re-spray, custom clear bra, CF interior and the list goes on. Best color there is:grinyes:
