Door Handle problem

Hello All! I am usually over on the M5 site, which has been great. My Wife has a 2001 X5 4.4L and just recently the Driver side door handle on the outside stopped working. When you pull it up nothing happens and it will not go back down all the way. I have to climb in the other doors to get in .
Has anyone had this problem?

while we are on the subject of problems, the interior hazard switch and central locking switch both stopped working. Anyone know how to fix??
thanks to all

I love rippin in the X5, its WAAAAAAAY better that my crappy MDX.
