When are they going to drop the V-10 in the X5?

I think in the US it would go over great. I think the stat is 10 X5's sold for every 5series station wagon sold in the US.

A high revving engine liek the V10 would seem very counter-intuitive for an SUV, despite how high performance it would be. But you are right. It would be great!

i'd take it with a longer stroke, smaller diameter rotating assembly and 5.5 liters - should make conservative 450tq and 450hp... with 7-speed auto tranny it should be as fast as the cayenne turbo s if not faster...

actually if they make one i will prolly get it ...

I think the V10 doesnt suit a X5 because it does not have enough torque down low.. Thats the bad news. the good news is Alpina will be doing a 500hp+ X5 with a V8 supercharged+auto box, which has enough power and torque too. should be very good.

What is it with Americans and SUVs? 99.9% of the time a saloon or estate with 4WD is good enough. The insult to injury is the 2WD Escalade, what is going on with that?
