Optimum Winter Tire Size and Makes ???

What tire sizes for the winter do you run on your 2006 X5is or any other year X5 ?

Hey,

It's 'Rocket's brother again. Right now I run the 18" rims made to clear the brakes on the 4.6is. Rather than winter tires, I went with 255/55R-18 Pirelli Scorpian All Seasons. That set has made it through 4 winters with no issues. Got plenty of pics of me on the road to Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont during those 20" plus blizzards. No issues whatsoever. I'll probably be parting with these soon. They are uglier than a Detroit Lions vs Oakland Raiders game in December.

This morning I did some driving in slushy roads on the stock 20" rims w/ Michelin Latitude Tour HPs. Not a real test by any means so I'll report back after the first major storm.
