        Premium Audio or not?

Is the premium audio of the X5 worth the bucks? I'm coming from a '01 M5 with M Audio, and I wasn't that impressed with it. So unless the premium package in the X5 is significantly better, I will probably tinker with it (recommendations from a previous post!). Is it better to start with the premium package or the standard package? TIA
        Ric

One consideration on not getting the premium sound is the possible installation of a MP3/CD changer. Right now there is a Sony 6 CD changer that basically bolt in place of the BMW CD Changer and is only 100% wire compatible with non-DSP/non-premium audio system. The Sony changer has it own DSP.

After that you need to get one module to interface with the radio screen. Total price is about $300 - $350 which is not bad considering the price of the BMW changer without MP3 capability. One quibble that people do have though is tht you can only have 99 songs per CD and there is no text indicating the title of the song. Navigation can also be a challenge.
