X6 M Pics from Univ. Of Alabama Campus

BMW was at the career fair today and brought their debadged(gangsta move) X6 M with them. Oddly enough the two outer exhaust pipes were blackened with exhaust, but the two inner ones were clean as a whistle. It had red leather and the black carbon fiber fabric trim, like me!

It has the ///M logo on the side grills.

Notice the exhaust pipes. WTF? Why are the inner ones soo clean?

Whats the story with the exhaust pipes? Why would only the outer ones be blackened?

My guess is that the exhaust system has the spring loaded vents which need pressure to open, just as many other BMW models such as the Z4 E85. In other words, all pipes isn't used until a certain pressure (in practice, rpm) is reached. This is one way to create different sound on different rpm's.
Take a picture straight into the exhaust system on one side (i.e, where one blackened and one clean pipe is seen) and we'll know the answer.
