My wife has had a problem where the doors won't open, and only the trunk opens. Our X5 is equipped with keyless entry or comfort access, where you can leave the key in your pocket and theoretically open the door. Most of the time it works like a charm.
But, she said once, only the trunk would open, and even when she manually activated the open button on the remote, the door locks would not open.
Anyone else have problems?

The only problem I have encountered was after the battery in the truck died. The doors opened but the engine would not turn over. I jumped the truck and had to drive about 5 miles to get the 4x4 and DSC reprogrammed. At that time the doors decided to lock / unlock all by themselves. After the battery was replaced and everything was rest we did not have any problems at all..
I know this is not the answer you were looking for. Is the battery in the key fob charged?
Good luck...

Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take.. but by the moments that take our breath away.
Do you have to physically place the key in the dash board key holder to charge it up?

Something says to me you do, much like the "old" keyed cars charged the battery when they were in the ignition. That said I ran my E60 for 4 months without ever having the key fob in the slot, and my wifes 4.8 rarely has the key in either.
Sorry, was really just a hopeful thought.

You're right. Apparently, every 2-3 months, you are supposed to stick the key in the dash for an extended drive, and to recharge the remote battery.
Thanks!
