Bavarian Professionals in Berkeley, CA? I am looking for a good indy shop north of San Jose. Thanks!

Have you ever used them before? If so what for? And for what are you taking it to them for?
I am trying to get a feel for this place since after asking around about PTech a few said they were better for upgrades and not so much for regular maintenance...So I don't really know. I am looking for an indi shop to have maintenance done and want to avoid the dealer and their stupid labor rates.

Thanks,

Z

Strange, went to Ptech today and there was no one there at all. I called, no one answers. There was no note on the door or anything to describe the situation. I figured on a Monday someone would be there. Maybe they all headed for the track?

I picked up my car a month and a half ago and just wanted to have it looked over again. I have an extended warranty on the car that will be expiring in a few months and wanted to see if they could find anything wrong with the car. I know it needs motor mounts soon-which is covered according to the warranty rep-and I also want to have my suspension looked over. I had a good PPI done in LA but after I got back to the 510 and have been driving it for a while (LOVING IT!), I just want to have it inspected again. I have a very large volume of invoices and receipts in the maintenance record file, so I do know what has and has not been repaired/replaced/or done maintenance wise. Car has 98K. I am out in the Tri Valley a lot since my business is out there. Thanks.

haha nice. I just txted the owner and one of techs to give them a heads-up. They're appt only though so when they're back at work tomorrow they'll be able to contact you and arrange something.

Right on...sounds great! Thank you guys for all the help. I am not far from them especially when out at work. Tell them to come to the BLUE BAR in Livermore and I will buy them some drinks...if they like to ham it up that is!

My in-laws are in Livermore...hmm...Main St has really blossomed in the last few years. We love it.

Yea Livermore is a trip. It is nice though. Almost like a little less refined and more laid back Napa. I have owned that bar for over 10 years and it's a zoo. Stripper pole, DJ, strong drinks etc...you should certainly come to the wine festival in the very start of May. It is a lot of fun. They close all the streets and the party is a blast! Just PM if you or others are coming and I will take care of you.

Perhaps we need to have an M5 outing in Livermore one of these weekends...

Just putting it out there, if you cats want to take over my parking lot anytime you want, just let me know. I have 6-10 spaces, maybe a few more, and they are free to you all. I am located by the flag pole across from Simply Fondue on 1st street and N. Livermore Ave.... Please let me know anytime you are thinking of having a gathering and perhaps I can host. Maybe we can organize a small gathering and hit MINES RD. which is a twisty vicious road up to "the junction" that leads to Patterson- east, or San Jose-west, or just farther south; just a thought. Also, they have an Altamont Cruiser car show every year in downtown Livermore where they close down all the streets, and there are never any "BMW only" spots. Hundreds of cars but mostly American muscle and various classics.

It was quick...only a few days to get an appointment. I was referred to the shop by a board member, so I was ready to give them a shot. The PPI cost me $250, which seemed a bit high, but they also seemed to know their doodoo and handled my car with care and also told me that things my first PPI pointed out (when I bought it in LA) were not in any condition to be replaced...like motor motor/trans mounts were fine and they showed me..Only took 1 3/4 hours and they spoke to me about all the issues, which thank god or whoever, were very few, that may require attention at some point. They told me my car was one of the nicest, cleanest e39 M5s they had ever seen and that I should be confident and happy motoring down the open road. News, all of which, I was pleased and relieved to hear as anyone owning this vehicle may imagine. Check my other post about them in a post/reply I did just a few minutes ago.

All the best,
Z
