San Diego and SoCal last M5 meet of 2012: Mini-meet and drive
Dudes,
Ok peeps, I'm going to attempt to put together one last meet and drive for 2012. This one will be shorter and more simple than the last one, with less rock chips guaranteed as well.
I've been told that my buddy BarryB will be in town this weekend with his Monte Carlo Blue F10 M5 and we may have a couple more F10 M5's meet us. This will be open to any E60 M5's and E92/E90 M3's, or any exotic that want to come as well though.
I'm thinking perhaps a quick Palomar run to the top and going directly down via S7 from there, (so skipping the observatory) and then going out to hit up Anza Barrego for some good canyon carving and photo opportunities and then down to Julian from there. Once at Julian we can make our way to Santa Ysabel and get food at the restaurant there then after food we can drive back to Poway and be done before 12pm.
So here's the 5 W's:
What: Meet and Greet and Drive Where: Meet point will be the park and ride at the 76 and 15 at the gas station, like where we always meet. When: Sunday December 30th @ 0600 or 6:00am for you non-military types. Meet time is at 6am! So don't be late! How: S85's, S63tu's, S65's and other inferior engines. Why: Go out with a bang for 2012!
This will be an EARLYAS F$CK drive. I've opted for Sunday morning because BarryB has prior engagements on Saturday morning. I would like to put out that this run may be a little risky though because it is at the end of the month and the end of the year and the CHP will be out hunting to give no front plate tickets, window tint tickets, and being an A-hole cop tickets, so that they can make their quotas for the month/year. This happened to me a couple years ago when a CHP gave me a tint ticket for no reason, other than he needed to make his quota, my windows weren't even tinted! LOL! The early meet time is essential. We won't be dilly dallying around at the meet point either, we will leave promptly at 6:15am. Seriously though, the early leave time will be key for this drive and will totally be worth it as we should be able to circumvent CHP and Toyota Priuses.
The route will be:
76 -> S6
S6 up Palomar
S7 down Palomar
76E -> 79N
79 t-> San Felipe Rd
San Felipe Rd -> S22
S22 -> Borrego Springs
Borrego Springs down to Julian via S3 and the 78
Julian -> Santa Ysabel
Then Santa Ysabel back to Poway via the 78
I will now stand by for Mighty5 and ACG to hi-jack and derail this thread so that in the end we are talking about pimps and hoes from Brooklyn. LOL!

I met Barry B and his wife at the F10 M5 launch event in Spain last year, I will make it on Sunday. You should also invite Chris Cibrowski. He owns an F10 M5 and lives near San Diego. He also was at the Spain M5 event.
