Anyone interested in going to this?

Bimmerfest East 2012, Aug 25

I would love to caravan up to MD for the event. Jason and the BIP crew are going. Let me know who's in. Also, sorry I've been AWOL lately, but lots of travel and my car surgery have been keeping me away. I should be back in action after this week. It looks like there are several events going on this month that we should attend. Here's a message I got from Darcy yesterday..
  • A-Town M Club Meet - Tilted Kilt Windward Pkwy Alpharetta - Friday July 13, 2012 7PMfficeffice" />
  • M3Post(E9X M3's) Cars and Coffee Meetup - Starbucks on Howell Mill Rd. Atlanta - Saturday July 14, 2012 8AM
  • Southrnfresh Sundays - Mello Mushroom - Woodstock Rd Roswell, GA July 22, 2012 Noon-Until
  • Atlbimmers Club Meet - Dantanas at the Shops at Lenox July 22, 2012 5PM
I also want to plan an event to meet up in old downtown Roswell to do a Bimmer only event. There's a restaurant there that is willing to shut down main street for us to parade into the event and give us great discounts for food and drink for the night. I'll have more details soon...

Tires are the new Michelin Pilot Super Sport. They are definitely stickier than the PS2's or any other tire I have had. The track was just prepped with whatever sticky stuff they put down. I also put the tire pressure at 19 PSI. I just smashed the throttle, and the car basically did it's own launch control from 4k RPM. The launch control you engage in the M6 is weak, but if you just mash it from a standstill it will drop the clutch from 3500-4000 I think......At least mine does.

The temp was about 82 out when I had that run and the elevation was sea-level with not much humidity. The biggest factor had to been that I was the first car to run for the day, and they just prepped it. Probably will not be able to run that again, but I will be happy with anything from 12.2-12.4. It's more fun top end anyway, but unfortunately there are not regular 1 mile events Besides....I need a faster car to keep up with you guys now haha! I was trying to steer away from the GTR, but I might have to go down that road after seeing all the reviews. Either that or the new Viper.

Today is my birthday and I have always wanted one of those giant birthday cakes that you think you can eat but then all of a sudden a hot girl jumps out. Where can I find one of those?

I have to apologize for my absence at recent meets. As many of you know, my beast is going through some cosmetic surgery. I wasn't sure if the project was going to work as I've had a few false starts and set backs. It looks like the body shop will actually be able to execute on my ideas though. Lots of changes to the car that I'll list as it gets closer to completion (maybe another 3 weeks or so). In the meantime, here's the link to the build progression...

Come out to the ATLBIMMERS Meet this Sunday July 22 at Dantanna's at 5PM. Bring out that Audi Dustin! I'll see if I can get my buddy Boris and his Audi crew to join in. Maybe we can discuss the future AMP track day everybody wants to do.
