It's been a while since I've posted anything about our local DFW Auto Club and thought I would pass on some updates.
The DFW Auto Club, originally named DFW ///M Club, was founded by darren_dallas, RaceMX-M3 (me), and a group of local BMW ///M car owners in the summer of 2007. As I recall we had about 5 cars at our first meet. The club was initially very loosely organized and comprised of local DFW area BMW ///M owners that enjoyed getting together on Saturday mornings for some coffee and to share their enthusiasm for BMW's premier line of cars.
After a few weeks Fubar (Mark), who until recently owned a M6, asked if it was ok if he brings his Ford GT to the next meet. Uh.... ok with me.

Pretty soon a few others with some very nice cars that happened to not be BMW's were wanting to join us, we had also made some good friends from the current ///M owners and didn't want to inadvertantly alienate anyone if they decided to sell their ///M and buy something else. We made the decision to open the club to a broader group of high performance cars and revised our name to DFW Auto Club.
Over the last few months the club has added many new members, on meet days with good weather it isn't unusual to see 50 - 60 cars show up and we meet new first time attendees every week. Current member's cars include almost every model in BMW's lineup, AMG's, Audi's, Porsche's, Corvette's, (one Ford GT), (one Cadillac CTS-V), Viper's, Ferrari's, Lamborghini's, Nissan GTR's, Supra's and more.
The DFW Auto Club meets every Saturday morning at 10am at Starbucks located in Plano at Park Blvd and the Tollway. More info about local club events is available at dfwautoclub.com .
Cheers,
Scott
