SpeedFreak Detailed: Nicklas Backstrom's Blk '09 SL63 AMG

Been a while since I posted a detail, getting a bit backed up so here is one from a month or so ago. The owner of Designo Motoring in Sterling, VA has a lot of athlete clientele from the Redskins, Capitals, and Wizards sports teams. I'm a huge NHL/Caps fan so when he asked me to perform a correction on Nick Backstrom's black SL63 AMG I was stoked! It had apparently been vandalized and was in pretty bad shape. Some of the scratches were too deep to remove, so they remain. I was VERY pressed for time so I didn't get to take many pictures. The car had your typical heavy swirling, RIDS, and some deep scratches on the front bumper, and door.

PRODUCTS USED:

  • Sonax Full Effect wheel cleaner
  • Meguiar's APC
  • Chemical Guys Citrus Wash
  • Pinnacle Speed clay
  • DoDo Juice Born Slippery clay lube
  • Meguiar's M105 on LC PFW pad via FLEX 3401
  • Pinnacle Advanced finishing polish on LC CCS White pad via FLEX 3401
  • Menzerna PO85RD on LC CCS Grey pad via FLEX 3401
  • Blackfire Wet Diamond
  • Stoner Invisible Glass
  • Poorboy's wheel sealant
  • Optimum metal polish

Hood vents removed and taped off as well as windshield, hood corrected. The lower grill mesh was replaced at the same time also.

Thanks Mark! Wish I'd taken more shots of yours, I've got about enough for HALF a detail thread.

The real showcase will be the 500 when you get your hands on that one.
