Ok, after talking with Adam, the MIR track rental is 9am-5pm on Friday, so we will have to arrive Thursday night. What do you think of heading out around 12pm from Columbus? I can work half a day that way...... (I am eating vacation time up like a boss this year....)

Well, pretty sure my fantasy of attendance ended already. Look like something else is planned that weekend. Might be a last miinute green light for me, but I doubt it.

Fortunately, I booked 23 August through 27 August months ago @ $118.65/night, all inclusive. I plan to be there midday Thursday. I like getting there early and leaving later; it makes the entire weekend much more relaxing for me. Now, I just got to hope that my schedule holds and I can make it.

EDIT: I just went to Marriott's website and got $99 (+ taxes and fees) for a stay of 23 August to 27 August at the Courtyard Columbia, MD Marriott. I don't know total availability of rooms but maybe if you cancel your room and enter a new reservation? You might lose a room altogether doing that, though.

I plan to drive out early Saturday and meet you guys at the hotel for the caravan to the fest. Will stay overnight and attend Clemsterfest. Too much going on at home that weekend, so cannot make it down before Sat. Looking forward to it.

That was the first I had heard of the track too was Tim's earlier post. I booked Fri-Sun but can add Thursday if needed. I think if the track day does hold its closer to my place by about 45 minutes so I could likely drive up early Friday as well and be there by 10am at the track if we do that.
