The Alaska contingent (that would be me, since I'm the only one up here) is making it a top priority to show up this year. I'm still bummed over not having the time to drive out from LA with Steve in 2010 for the first one.

At the very least I'm going to fly in for the weekend.
If I can come up with the $$$ and time, I'm going to drive, or possibly ship the car to Seattle, then drive from there.
Waiting on some of this summer's construction contracts to be signed so I know what my schedule is.

Question to the married guys: I let my wife leave for three and a half weeks so she could go on an overseas trip with her parents and two sisters (she's gone right now- comes back home mid January). Does this give me enough hall passes to go ahead and at least book the hotel for the weekend without getting preapproval?

Keep us informed of your plans. If you do fly, we can take care of getting you from the airport, no sweat, unless you want to rent a car. I am SURE someone will have a spare passenger seat though.....

Personally, I would book the hotel ASAP. It is easily cancelled if things change. The Hilton fills up quickly.

If she left you with the kids, not only can you book the hotel, but you can go ahead and plan out the entire weekend without preapproval. If no kids, book the hotel as a "placeholder" as timmay says.

Veronica (the wifey) made us reservations for 100 at La Scala on Saturday night. They are reserving 50-60 parking spots for us.

The original plan was to get us a banquet room, but they book up years in advance. The seating will be just like last year (for those who remember) just additional tables.

Yeah, it's a pretty big restaurant.

I think that it is pretty cool that they do all of that; the tables, the parking spots, etc., for the group. They certainly could say no to such a large group on the main floor.
