Autumn 2011 Drive

Multiple 1 Day events - we drive out hangout a little and come back

between
September 1st - November 30th












DEPARTURES:

1- early morning (before dawn)
2- noon w/ drive back at sunset





SUGGESTED DRIVES:

-->U.S. Route 6 and US 209 in Port Jervis to NY 17
-meeting @ west side highway/holland tunnel

-->Hamptons Long Island NY
-roosevelt field mall - Garden City NY

-->Bear Mountain NY

-->Another idea was drive out far enough to empty our tanks and fill up on ethanol free fuel for the return trip
- Ethanol-free gas stations in the U.S. and Canada

This looks great! As we get closer to September I will give somedates that work.
BTW - I think one drive in Sept and one in Oct. would be wonderful.
The fall is the best time for our cars...cooler intake...better performance.

I'm in for this, I did a few for RS4's and we would start by NYU and head up the West Side, cross the tap and enjoy palisades up to Harriman state Park.

Is there an intermediate option, 3 to 4 hours of intense driving, highway and mountain roads mixed in?

As much as I love driving the Beast, the "mini-LeMans", going all out for an 8 hr stretch is a bit much.

we can break down that long run into 3 or 4 parts

there's a couple of town we go through - so we can make scenic stops


the problems is anywhere since we're in NY we already have to take a long drive to get somewhere nice


i gotta admit bear mountain was ok, but the roads weren't that great


anyone up for something out of state?

We can drive off to Western Pennsylvania Sunday morning in order to avoid the hurricane then come back when it subsides.
