OktoberFAST German car show & cruise Oct 9-10 Stowe, VT

This Oct 9-10 the Green Mt Chapter of the BMW CCA is hosting an all German car show in Stowe, VT. It is surrounded by some amazing driving roads, and it will be around the peak of foliage in VT. This all promises for an awesome day/weekend.

I was thinking it would be a great idea to meet up on Saturday the 10th at this show. We could hang around a while and enjoy the show, and then afterwards take a nice drive through the mountains of VT. We could make our way to Rt 17 through the Appalachian Gap, believe me you will be awestruck at this road. I'll work on a nice route that will keep everyone entertained.

From the Green Mt. Chapter website:

All German cars are welcome.

Registration
$25 per car, $8 per spectator
Registration is Friday night at Smuggler’s Notch Resort with a meet and greet or at the gate Saturday morning.

Official Hotel accommodations by Smuggler’s Notch Resort, Winter Vacations at Smugglers' Notch Vermont Call direct to reserve your room today (802) 644-1151, mention BMW CCA.

About Oktoberfast

OktoberFAST is a celebration of German Cars hosted by the Green Mountain Chapter of the BMW Car Club of America. It is a fun-filled weekend for German car enthusiasts and their families. The wonderful roads and the Green Mountains of Vermont, in peak foliage colors, will set the scene for German car fans to drive and show their cars and to meet and interact with fellow German automobile aficionados. The event is open to all German marques new, old, stock or highly modified of Audi, BMW, Mercedes, Porsche, Volkswagen, Mini and BMW Motorcycles.

Past OktoberFAST events have included several choices for some incredible back road drives, a “fun rally,” a show and shine, an autocross run by the SCCV, (Sports Car Club of Vermont) a tech session with Mike Miller, and several social events. Our inaugural event, SOMMERFAST ’05, was small with just 75 cars attending, OktoberFAST in 2006 grew to over 130 cars and 2007 provided much the same. All events were a resounding success and we see no reason why 2009 will be any different.

The Green Mountain Chapter BMW CCA is committed to hosting an exciting and memorable event dedicated to the German car fanatic and hope to grow this event into the largest gathering of German cars in the Northeast.

So who is IN? This sounds like a promising event!

Update

Hey Bird,

We on for Saturday still? Long range forecast seems to be ok in that area..so far. If we're on set-up the where and when and I'll meet you there.
I'll bring along my herocam to try and get some nice vids of you going up the 17. Also do you have a two-way radio? If so should I bring along mine?

Later bird!

Hell yea its still on. Too bad the regional section is so weak! Hopefully the weather holds up. I was thinking be at Stowe by 10, meet up in Burlington at 9? Staples worked well last time, want to just meet there again?

BTW, good call on the herocam. That will be sweet! I don't have a 2 way radio, but I might be able to borrow one from a friend. Couldn't hurt for you to bring it.

Connor,

My wife and I are heading up to nrothern vermont for a day trip on Sunday. We might stop by at that show if its worthwhile. With out a doubt we will be going through Rt. 117, although I'm leaving my DSC on, wouldn't want to lose it up there...

Justin, according to the emails I've been getting about the show, everyone is packing it up around 9 on Sunday. But the roads are still there to remind you why your M is so great! If your around Burlington, at all give me a heads up.
