I love the fit and finish of the Alpina Roadster, I think I want a B7 real bad.

Well, I was 20 miles out of Indy and was called into work for an "emergency". I'm still a little upset over not making it to this meet... guess there is always next time.

        Cheers

        Hi all,

Thanks for coming out. I know that it was a bit of a difficult weekend being Memorial day and prior plans probably already intact. I think it was still a good day. The weather couldn't have been better. It was good to meet so many new faces and see the people behind the handle.

Sorry about leaving without having any grub and cocktails. I had to cut out early to head out of town to see the parents and had a long drive to St. Louis. Wanted to get there before it got dark, but Mr. State Trooper had other plans. I hate instant on. Man it was nasty out there this weekend.

I am glad to see my next door neighbor (George) made it out in his 2000 Royal Red Beast. Dave (wilsodh) made it just as I was leaving in El Diablo. It looks like there was a drive afterwards and Jeff (slickM) made it to that in his M6. I see the picts from the drive in the Chitown forum. Who was in what looks to be the 2000 Carbon Black parked behind Andy's (Obormot) Audi?

Based on the drive picts, it looks like there was a total tally of 19 cars. Cool!!!! I took a few pictures before I left and will post them as soon as I can. Man it was good to see such variety of cars. We almost had just about every color. Just needed an Alpine White and there is also an Oxford Green floating around I think.

If you check the Midwest Forum, there is a thread referring to future Chicago meets. The next one up should be in the July time frame after the 4th. We have time to make some decisions. We could do the RAM, Volo, some where else??? Chime in on that thread for any other ideas. The only event that I am aware of in June is the E34 guys and gals want to get together. Hope they don't mind a few others.

        Until next time...

Seriously, seriously, seriously... for the next event, why not get behind doing some indoor racing?

Obviously, I'd prefer a track day for our beasts, but this is great as well.

Here are a few pictures I snapped.

Finally got to see the Z8 up close I spotted out of the corner of my eye one day. This is the Alpina version with the 4.6L V8 configuration. I think there is another lurking out there with the S62 configuration. Hope to see it some time soon as well.
